Looking for a unique way to explore Japan’s rich cultural heritage? Join the Sumo Birthplace Stamps Rally and embark on an exciting journey through the historical cities of Katsuragi, Kashiba, and Sakurai in Nara Prefecture—home to sumo wrestling’s origins!
Using the Sakurai City tourism app, “Go Sakurai – Sakurai Meguri,” collect digital stamps at iconic sumo-related sites and local attractions. Participants have the chance to win exclusive prizes, including regional sake from all three cities.

From December 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025
How It Works
Download the “Go Sakurai – Sakurai Meguri” app.
Enable GPS and camera access on your smartphone.
Visit the designated stamp spots across Sakurai, Katsuragi, and Kashiba.
Collect stamps by using the app at each location.
Complete the rally and enter the prize draw!
