Le mont Nijō
Le mont Nijō est constitué de deux sommets, le pic Odake à 517 mètres d'altitude et le pic Medake à 474 mètres. Ce mont est mentionné dans le Man'yōshū, la plus ancienne anthologie de poésie japonaise (waka) existant encore de nos jours, compilée au 8e siècle.

Situé au pied du mont Katsuragi, ce parc est un espace vert de plus de 12 hectares, dans lequel s'épanouissent tout au long des saisons notamment des azalées, des rhododendrons, des lespedeza et des fleurs de cerisiers.

Ce parc naturel s'étend au pied du mont Nijō et sa vaste pelouse est idéale pour le pique-nique. L'été venu, il y flotte une ambiance ludique avec sa terrasse au bord de l'eau. Les enfants sont également enchantés de s'amuser dans la nature, grâce notamment aux petites cabanes de type chalet et aux structures en bois de l'aire de jeux.

Le parc Yashikiyama, situé au pied du mont Katsuragi, possède une végétation abondante permettant tout au long de l’année d’être en lien direct avec la nature. La ville est bien entendu très appréciée des habitants des environs.

C’est avec le mont Nijo, l’un des sommets de la chaîne de montagnes de Katsuragi. Le mont Iwahashi s’élève à une altitude de 659 m au sud du col de Takenouchi. Source de vie d’une végétation abondante dans tout l’ouest de la région d’Iwaki (partie nord de la ville de Katsuragi), il nous fait parvenir encore aujourd’hui sa légende, chargée d’histoire et des bienfaits de son eau pure.

En bordure de préfecture entre la ville de Katsuragi (préfecture de Nara) et le quartier de Taishi (district de Minamikawachi, préfecture d’Osaka), le col du mont Takenouchi traverse la « Takenouchi Kaido », la route nationale 166. C’est un carrefour majeur pour les transports depuis l’Antiquité. Même le prince Shotoku l’empruntait pour faire des allers et retours entre le temple Shitennoji et d'Asuka. Il passait par le col.

Le col de la montagne d’Iwaya
C’est un col entre le mont Futakamimentake et le col de Takeuchi. Les vestiges du temple-grotte « Iwaya » (construit autour du VIIIe siècle) y sont conservés. C’est pourquoi il est désigné site historique national.
