Kokushoji Temple
There is a grave for Mitsuhide Akechi’s head in the temple.
On June 14, the anniversary of his death, a memorial service is conducted.
At an annual festival held on May 3 called “Kameoka Mitsuhide Festival,” a religious service is conducted for the repose of his soul at the temple.
In summer, the temple is filled with kikyo (Chinese bellflowers), a family crest of the Akechi family. It is, therefore, also called "Kikyoji Temple."
