Lake Asumiko
Lake Asumiko is one of the eight lakes in the vicinity of Mt. Fuji where ascetics once purified themselves on their way to Mt. Fuji.
Furthermore, it is speculated that it coincides with the location depicted as “Fuji in Asumi Village” in the “One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji” by the late Edo period ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai, making it a truly hidden gem.
Now commonly known as Lotus Pond, the sight of beautiful lotus flowers blooming all over the pond is a view worthy of Mt. Fuji. (Flowering season: late July to mid-August)
