Kaiki
Kaiki is a silk fabric with a unique glossy sheen and light yet warm texture.
Its history spans some 400 years.
Originally called Gunnai weave, it was developed to support people's lives in the harsh land at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
In the Edo period, it was a special fabric favored for use as the lining of high-class haori (Japanese formal kimono) and for tea ceremony utensils.
Precisely its graceful and dignified brilliance is the fruit of the harsh yet pure nature of Mt. Fuji.
