Tamonin Temple (Peony, Cypripedium japonicum)
This is a Buddhist Temple of the Shingon sect, founded as a place of prayer for the pioneers.
The golden Bishamonten, which was the guardian deity of Takeda Shingen, is enshrined in the temple grounds’ Bishamondo Hall.
Every year on May 1st, the “Tiger Festival” is held to make wishes to the “Tiger”, a messenger of the diety Bishamon.
In spring, about 300 flowers of peony decorate the precincts of the temple.
