Gekko Astronomical Observatory
Gekko Astronomical Observatory is a privately owned observatory with a planetarium and a geological museum as well.
Inside its 4-storied building, a reception lobby, shops and a planetarium can be found on the 1st floor, a geology exhibition room (Geo World) on the 2nd floor, an astronomy exhibition room (Cosmo World) on the 3rd floor and an observation room and terrace are located on the 4th floor.
In the geology exhibition room, numerous fossils and skeletons of dinosaurs (including replicas) such as ammonites are displayed.
It’s okay to touch some of the exhibits, making for a fun learning experience while imagining ancient times.
In the astronomy exhibition room (Cosmo World), exhibits related to astronomy and space can be seen, with examples such as a solar spectrum model and models of the Hayabusa and other space shuttles.
