Authentic Kabuki Playhouse

1Built in 1916 to celebrate the enthronement of Emperor Taisho, this playhouse is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
Although it once faced demolition due to deterioration, it was restored and remains functional today. It features a rotating stage, hanamichi (flower path), box seating, and dressing rooms, making it fully equipped for kabuki performances.
Nowadays, it is primarily used for Bunraku puppet theater, rakugo storytelling, and various lectures, and it is open for public tours.
