Japanese Wax Museum & Kamihaga Residence

Uchiko Town was once a major production area for Japanese wax (mokuro), a type of wax derived from the fruit of the haze tree.
The Kamihaga Residence was the home of one of the largest wax producers in the area and is now designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
Currently, it has been preserved as a museum.
The property includes 10 buildings, including rare industrial heritage structures from the time, such as the original wax production facilities.
