Kuro-no-Seto
Kuro-no-seto is considered to be one of Japan’s three great rapid currents.
Kuro-no-seto is a vast channel that connects the East China Sea and the Yatsushirokai Sea, which are between Akune City and Nagashimacho.
The strait is very narrow, and the current that flows through it is violent.
Whirlpools occur when the tide is low.
It is the southernmost land covered by Manyoshu songs, which the word “Reiwa” derives from.
“Uzushio (whirlpool) observatory” where you can see big whirlpools up close is also available.
