Ruins of the Rice Riot engraved in history
It is a valuable archaeological site (Yonekura of the former Twelve Bank) of the "Rice Riot" that made Uozu known throughout the country.
In 1918 (Taisho year 7), dozens of housewives of fishermen who were suffering from rising rice prices demanded to stop the shipping of rice and the Rice Riot began here.
The bank's building and warehouse retains the image of those days.
