Hotsushoji-yaki Kaike kiln

Hosshoji-yaki is a special kind of ceramic that has been passed down from the Edo era (1603 - 1868).
It is made by mixing and heating clay and glazes together with white sand from the Kaike coast, iron sand from the Hino River, and red clay from nearby regions.
The clay's warm texture harmonizes perfectly with one's skin, and it can capture the maker's heart through expressive colors and shapes.
