Tanabata Jinja Shrine 棚機神社

Tanabata Jinja Shrine

Tanabata Jinja Shrine is situated in a place called "Tanabata" in the Ota district of Katsuragi City.
It has been worshipped since ancient times as a shrine to enshrine a god of threads.
Legend has it that in ancient times, there was Katsuragishidoriniimasu Amenohazuchinomikoto-jinja Shrine in this place.
Today, a stone-made small shrine called Tanabata Jjinja Shrine stands in the grove. In the shrine, Amenotanabatahimenomikoto, a god of textile, is enshrined.
On July 7 each year, the "Tanabata Festival" is held, and the shrine is decorated beautifully with bamboo leaves.
