Shimokubo Dam
Shimokubo Dam is a multipurpose, concrete dam that uses gravity to control the flow of water.
A peculiarity of the dam's construction is that it is one of a few dams in Japan constructed with a dam body bent at right angles, and with a height of 605 meters, it can boast as being the tallest concrete dam in Japan.
Directly below its apex resides the Shimokubo Power Station operated by Gunma Prefecture, and although you cannot approach the dam body itself, it is complete with a parking lot near the dam's apex.
You can also get a "dam card" if you go to the Shimokubo Management Office.
