Mt. Eboshi
The altitude of Mount Eboshi is 162 meters.
It was originally a pathway of lava beneath a submarine volcano, or the core of a volcano, that appeared above the sea.
Kumomisengen Shrine, which is at the peak of Mount Eboshi, is where the goddess Iwanagahime-no-Mikoto is worshipped.
Iwanagahime-no-Mikoto has a beautiful sister called “Konohanasakuyahime-no-Mikoto” who is worshipped at Mount Fuji’s Sengen Shrine.
The weather at these two mountains is always different, and it’s difficult to see one from the other.
This has led to the birth of a legend saying the sisters are jealous of each other.
