Mt. Ryuo
This mountain sits at an altitude of 568 meters, which sticks out among the mountain range that borders the Yamato Plateau and Nara Basin.
Visitors can look over west from where the summit is (Nanjo-ato) to catch a scenic view of the Nara Basin and notable mountains in Nara, including the Yamato Sanzan mountains, Mt. Ikoma, and Mt. Nijo.
The mountain hiking trail that leads up to the summit goes through the Ryuozan Kofun-gun, which features a large scattering of ancient burial mounds.
