National Historic Site Hirasawa Government Office Site

Hirasawa's government office ruins are thought to be the remains of the ancient (Nara and Heian periods) county office of Tsukuba-gun in Hitachi Province. It was designated as a National Historic Site in 1980.
Three high-floor warehouses (ancient log storehouse, earthen storehouse, and board storehouse) have been reconstructed to recreate the ancient space, with also an information center set up.

Transportation: From Tsukuba Express Tsukuba Station, take the TsukuBus Oda Shuttle and get off at "Oike Hirasawa Kanga Iriguchi." It is about a 5-minute walk.

From Tsuchiura Station on the JR Joban Line, take the Kanto Railway Bus bound for Tsukubasanguchi or Shimotsuma Station, and get off at Hirasawa Kanga Iriguchi. It's about a five-minute walk.
