Hada Jinja Shrine
The Hada jinja Shrine features a wooden statue of Motachika and a plaque commemorating the dead from the Tojigawa Battle.
It was built in the beginning of the Meiji period (1868-1912), replacing the Seikeiji Temple, which had been closed down due to the abolition of Buddhism.
"Hada" derives from the name of an ancestor of the Chosokabe clan.
The shrine’s treasure, a painting of Motochika Chosokabe, designated as a national important cultural property, is now kept in the Kochi Prefectural Museum of History and Folklore, and a facsimile is on display to the public.
The main deity of the shrine is the spirit of Nagasokabe Shogun Motochika.
