Nakano Numabukuro Hikawa Jinja Shrine

A shrine tucked away in the fresh, clean air and the forest's green embrace.
The shrine features the remains of the Dōkan Ceder, a towering 30 meter tall tree that died of old age in 1944 (Showa 19).

Transportation: A two minute walk from the north exit of Numabukuro Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line.
A 20 minute walk from the north exit of Nakano Station on the JR Chūō-Sōbu Line or the Tōzai Subway Line.
Ten minutes by bus. (Ride towards Nerima Station, disembarking at Arai Elementary School and walking five minutes.)

An absolutely beautiful place with some of the kindest people you'll meet. It's a bit out of the way if you're a tourist, but as soon as you walk through the Torii gates, it's a whole new place from the hustle and bustle. Getting married there was an honour.
