Tahara Waterfall
The famous haiku poet Matsuo Basho wrote, "Ikiyoi ari/Kohri kiete ha/Takitsuuo" (“With power/the ice disappears/Fish in the falls”) of this waterfall.
Tahara Falls was designated as a spot scenic beauty by Tsuru City, and provides a spectacular view of the abundant, clear water of Katsura River flows down through multiple waterfalls, via topography created by lava from Mt. Fuji. The connection it has with Mt. Fuji is tangible.
The adjacent park is equipped with a parking lot and restrooms.
