Maniwa City Public Library

The Maniwa City Central Library opened in 2018 when the Katsuyama Library moved.
It is located in the Katsuyama Townscape Conservation Area, a 13-minute walk from Chugoku Katsuyama Station, and right in front of the "Chuo Toshokan" bus stop of the Maniwa Community Bus, Maniwakun.
The first floor contains general materials and the second floor is the children's section.
Architect Shigeru Aoki, who refines buildings, regenerated the 37-year-old RC-constructed government office building, creating a soft library space enveloped in cross laminated timber using local wood and wooden louvers.
There are special corners for books by Junichiro Tanizaki, books related to U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, and the "Ki no Kuni" Document Center.
