The hikiyama (floats) in Johana astound visitors with their beautiful paintings and carvings.
On display in Johana Hikiyama Hall are magnificent and dignified hikiyama, painted meticulously in the traditional Johana style, that are sure to amaze all who see them.
Every few minutes, the lighting in the hall will change, and visitors can experience what a festival night would be like as they listen to Johana Iori-uta, a style of music inspired by Edo-hauta.
In the lobby, a video of the Hikiyama Festival is played, so guests can enjoy the lively festival atmosphere all year round.
