The building's Meiji-era architecture is a fusion of East and West

The old Toyama Prefecture Agriculture School and Important Property “Ganjokaku” stands in the middle of a peaceful farming town.
The two-storey building is constructed in the Western, colonial style, with painted walls made from wooden boards, and vertical windows. The pink walls are a notably eye-catching feature. The building looks beautiful against a clear blue sky.
This historic schoolhouse, built over 100 years ago, has a faintly nostalgic atmosphere, and when you step inside, it will feel like you've gone back in time.
This building has a storied history, being used from 1909 to house the then Crown Prince (later Emperor Showa), and the exhibits and decorations here provide insight into what it was like at the time.
