A roadside station with great views, close to the sea

Shiomizaka (潮見坂), known as one of the Tōkaidō's most scenic spots, has inspired many with its picturesque landscapes recorded in travel writings and poems. In this area, you can visit the Michi-no-Eki Shiomizaka (道の駅 潮見坂), a roadside station that offers a panoramic view of the Enshū Nada (遠州灘).

Located along the Shiomi Bypass on National Route 1, the station features a restaurant and a shop, making it a popular rest stop for travelers. The restaurant serves dishes made with local specialties from Kosai City (湖西市), while the shop offers a variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, seafood, and souvenirs from the area.

The facility also includes a foot bath where families can relax while enjoying the view of the Enshū Nada. It’s a great spot to unwind and take in the scenery.

Additionally, Michi-no-Eki Shiomizaka is just a 3-minute walk from Shirasuka Beach (白須賀海岸), which features expansive sandy shores. It’s an ideal location for viewing the horizon, especially during winter mornings when you can experience a magical sunrise.
