One of the Largest Sunflower Fields in the Tohoku Region, Blooming Towards the Summer Sun

The Sannokura Highlands, known for their stunning seasonal flower displays, offer breathtaking panoramic views of the Aizu Basin from an elevation of 650 meters.

In spring, approximately 3.5 million canola flowers blanket the highlands in yellow, resembling a vast carpet. The flowers’ bright color and their meaning of "cheerfulness" lift the spirits of visitors. There is also a "Happiness Bell" installed on the hill, where visitors can ring the bell and make a wish.

In summer, the largest sunflower field in the Tohoku region, with approximately 2.5 million sunflowers, comes into full bloom. The sunflower's meaning of "admiration" and "reverence" is reflected in the sight of these large flowers facing the sun, a symbol of summer. The photogenic sunflower fields attract many tourists.

In winter, the Sannokura Highlands become a ski resort, popular for skiing and snowboarding. Equipped with night skiing facilities, visitors can enjoy nighttime runs. Year-round, the highlands offer activities such as hang-gliding and paragliding, making them a destination for all seasons.
