Preserving Okinawa's crafts for future generations

The OKINAWA CRAFT INDUSTRY PROMOTION CENTER is a center which facilitates the exchange of people, technology, and information for the promotion of Okinawa's craft industry. The facility has three roles to deepen the understanding of crafts and preserve them for the future.

① To disseminate information on crafts
② To support the makers of crafts
③ To serve as a place for interaction between the makers and users

We have the only permanent exhibition room in the prefecture where all Okinawan crafts, including weaving, dyeing, woodwork, metalwork, ceramics, glass, and lacquerware, can be viewed.
Not only are visitors allowed to take pictures of the exhibits, but they can also directly touch them to feel the texture and warmth of the handiwork, which cannot be understood through sight alone.
